Why Roberson
Security you can see from the road
Data centers protect equipment and information that businesses can't afford to lose. Physical security starts at the property line: a perimeter that slows down and discourages intruders, funnels every vehicle and person through a controlled entry, and protects the generators, fuel, cooling and power infrastructure that keep the building running.
Roberson Construction installs high-security fence and gate systems for new data center construction and for existing facilities that are expanding or upgrading. We work from your security consultant's and engineer's drawings, coordinate with the security integrator, and deliver clean, straight, professional work that matches the facility.

Defense in depth
Six layers of physical security
Strong data center security doesn't rely on a single fence. Select a layer to see where it sits on a typical site and what we install there.
What we install
High-security fence & gate systems
Every system is built to your drawings. Not sure which fits? We'll walk through the options and price alternates.
- High security
Anti-Climb Welded Mesh
Tight-aperture welded wire mesh (358-style) leaves no finger or toe holds and stands up to hand tools far better than standard chain link.
- 8'–12' heights
- Galvanized + powder-coated
- Hard to climb or cut
- Professional look
Steel Security Fence
Heavy steel picket fence with outward-curved or spear tops for strong security and a clean, corporate appearance from the street.
- Outward-curved tops
- Black powder coat
- Rackable for slopes
- Cost-effective
High-Security Chain Link
Heavy-gauge chain link with barbed wire or razor ribbon for long perimeter runs and back-of-house areas where budget matters.
- 9 ga fabric
- Barbed or razor topper
- Buried or anchored bottom
- Controlled entry
Gates & Automation
Cantilever slide, swing and pedestrian gates with commercial-duty operators, safety devices and pre-wired provisions for access control.
- Commercial operators
- Loop & safety devices
- Prepped for card readers
- Inner layers
Equipment Enclosures
Secure fenced yards around generators, fuel, chillers and electrical gear inside the main perimeter.
- Generator & fuel yards
- Substation enclosures
- Screening options
- When specified
Vehicle Barriers
Bollards and crash-rated barrier products installed to the manufacturer's foundation details when your security plan calls for vehicle stopping power.
- Fixed & removable bollards
- Rated products to spec
- Foundations per manufacturer

Our work
Recent commercial fence projects
How tall should a data center fence be?
Eight feet is a common minimum for a data center perimeter, and many facilities go to 10'–12' with anti-climb mesh or a topper in higher-risk areas. The right answer comes from your security consultant's assessment, and we build to it.
What's the difference between anti-climb mesh and chain link?
Anti-climb welded mesh has very small openings, so there's nothing to grab with fingers or shoes, and it takes much longer to cut through. Chain link costs less and works well for long or back-of-house runs, especially with a barbed or razor topper. Many sites use both.
Can you install gates that work with our access control system?
Yes. We install commercial gate operators and safety devices and coordinate with your security integrator — conduit, pads and mounting provisions for card readers, intercoms and cameras — so their equipment drops right in.
Do you install bollards and crash-rated barriers?
We install bollards and vehicle barriers, including manufacturer crash-rated products when they're specified, built to the manufacturer's foundation details. Tell us what rating your plan calls for and we'll price it.
Can you work on an operating facility?
Yes. We follow your site's badging, escort, safety and confidentiality procedures, schedule around operations, and keep the work area secure at the end of every day so your perimeter is never left open.
What do you need from us to provide a bid?
Site plans or fence layout drawings, fence and gate specifications, approximate linear footage, gate counts and types, the location, and your target schedule. A link to your plans works great.
Where do you work?
We're based in Pearl, Mississippi and install data center fencing across Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, Tennessee and Arkansas. If your project is somewhere else in the region, reach out — we'll let you know if we can take it on.
